FAQ How long will it take to get my hide?
We're able to process orders within one or two business days, and will drop-ship in the US via UPS Ground, so clear a space in your living room! For custom orders (patchwork rugs or specially screened exotic-animal prints), please allow six to ten weeks.

How do I clean my cowhide rug?
Cows in nature are generally clean animals and do not stain-even with grass. Prompt attention to spills with a damp sponge and a little soap is all that's needed in most cases. Once in a while, you can treat your cowhide to a steam cleaning, being careful not to soak the leather backing.

What can I do with my cowhide (besides put it on the floor)?
Think about what a rich reddish-brown full-sized flowingly asymmetrical hide would have to say on your entry-way or office wall… or draped across your bed or couch. Our hides are remarkably supple, and adapt with grace to horizontal or vertical applications!

Tell me about the nitty-gritty details!
One point you'll appreciate about these Brazilian cowhides is how the edges lie flat; one of those little things that can make all the difference. Hides are naturally very strong, fire-resistant, and impervious to foot traffic.

Is there any danger of the dyes running or fading?
In a word - no! With a product this special, we make sure all processes used on our hides are impeccable.

How can I return a product?
The quality of our products is guaranteed. All items are inspected before leaving the warehouse.We rarely have returns and invite your questions prior to placing an order. In the event that something happens during transit, we will accept any damaged or defective merchandise for return, but we must be advised as soon as you receive your merchandise. If you do decide that a product does not meet design expectations, a full refund (less actual shipping charges) will be issued if merchandise is returned in its original and resalable condition within 90 days; otherwise a restocking fee may be charged (exceptions apply for Custom and designer rugs and made-to-order products and orders of five or more hides matched for nomenclature, markings, color and/or size are non-returnable and non-refundable; see Terms of Service for more information). Credit card orders will receive refunds in the form of a credit to their credit card, and check payments will receive a refund check. Just complete the Customer Information Request Page, and our customer service staff will work with you to arrange return/replacement. International sales, including all destinations outside the Continental United States, are final. See Terms of Service for more information.

Are all patterns available in all sizes?
Yup! (Do the math… that makes… umm….) You'll be able to pick exactly what you need to suit your situation. The exception is our exotic-animal prints and our Pop!cow hides, all of which vary in size between 30 and 35 square feet (medium).

I live outside the Continental US.
Can I still purchase one of your cowhides? YES, we would be happy to ship to you; inquire about shipping rates by completing our Customer Information Request form on the Contact page. If you live at an international address you will be responsible for any duty or taxes levied by your country.

Is your web site secure?
This site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. All orders are transmitted over secure Internet connections using SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption technology. All of your personal information including your credit card information and sign-in password are stored in encrypted format at all times. This Website, and more importantly all user information, is further protected by a multi-layer firewall based security system.

So what does a square foot look like, anyway? And what do 30 of them look like when banded together and shaped like an amoeba? When trying to visualize the impact of your planned hide, use these stats as a guide: 
A regular hide would typically measure up to 5 by 7 feet at its widest.
And a XL large hide might stretch out to 6 by 8 feet.
